First MOOC on Artistic Research in Music now online

The Orpheus Institute has launched its first MOOC on Artistic Research in Music. A MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) is a free online course available for anyone to enroll. The first MOOC on Artistic Research in Music offers an introduction to the most relevant research tools, techniques and methodologies as well as the key concepts of artistic research in music. The course is available on edX, which is the leading platform for online learning and education.

We invite to send proposals that critically explore the relationship between musicians and their musical instruments, tools, and utensils by multiple perspectives, covering an extended range of artistic experiences, from historically informed performance to contemporary and electroacoustic music creation.

New artistic outcome based on research by Nicoleta Paraschivescu

docARTES graduate Nicoleta Paraschivescu (Leiden University, 2015) recently released a new CD which is the artistic outcome of her research on Paisiello's Partimenti. The recording is meant to be the musical complement to the book Paisiellos Partimenti: Wege zu einem praxisbezogenen Verständnis (SCBS 6) soon to be published by Schwabe Verlag in Basel.

11 nieuwe docARTES studenten

We verwelkomen 11 nieuwe doctoraatsstudenten die zullen starten in het docARTES-programma. Ze werden geselecteerd uit 42 inschrijvingen. De groep is terug erg internationaal met negen verschillende nationaliteiten. De onderwerpen variëren van phrasing en compositie tot de cello in het laat-19e-eeuwse Frankrijk.

ODC 2018 met keynote door Jordi Savall

The Orpheus Doctoral Conference 2018 Dissolving Borders: Musical Migration / Migratory Musicking took place at the Orpheus Institute 18 - 19 April and was a great success. There were nine presentations and two keynote speakers: Prof. Dr. Jin-Ah Kim and Jordi Savall.

Eerste docARTES sessie in Leiden

De docARTES intro-sessie in maart vond voor de eerste keer plaats in de Academy of Creative and Performing Arts in Leiden. De docARTES studenten volgende deze sessie samen met de onderzoekers van het doctoraatsprogramma in de beeldende kunsten en design (PhDArts).

Sinds 2017 is de nieuwe docARTES website online! Zowel design, navigatie als inhoud werden grondig onder handen genomen zonder het gebruiksgemak uit het oog te verliezen.
